An incredible read, and yet it resonates with absolute truth. The odds are enough to drive a millenial mad.
When my grandparents were my age they were in a position to buy their home outright, on two teacher's salaries. That was in the 60s.
Fast-forward to today and my mom and her two brothers are in the process of selling the last family home my family are ever likely to own, bar some kind of miracle, and will be splitting the resulting inheritance between them.
By the time any of that generational wealth reaches me, it'll be a needle in a haystack. My best bet is to find another way, on my own, not to become rich but merely comfortable and free.
