I've just returned to Medium after a bit of a hiatus, and I'm definitely seeing my new Stories dying an early death. Freshly published Stories used to have more longevity, which really sucks! I feel like it forces writers to focus on quantity over quality.

But, like you also pointed out, it might be temporary while the tech wizards working on the backend figure out the perfect algorithmic formula that works for both readers and writers!
